INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ECONOMICS (2025)

Social networks and inequalities according to two guest scholars:

1. Matthew Owen Jackson, American economist and professor at Stanford University (California), is an expert in social and economic networks as well as game theory.
“At a general level, the tech boom drives GDP growth, but only a small group of people reap the benefits—and as a result, social inequality increases.”

2. Miguel Urquiola, professor of Economics at Columbia University, examines the wealth of knowledge developed within universities (American ones, in his case) to highlight how much major U.S. companies—and, above all, humanity at large—owe to academic research. Donald Trump’s cuts to public funding harm everyone.

SOPRASOTTO (2023)
Illustration for La Lettura dei Ragazzi e delle Ragazze—the youth cultural supplement of Corriere della Sera.

The city, ABOVE
Improvisation (in the right measure) and rules (without overdoing it): walking through urban centers, even in one’s own neighborhood, offers constant surprises. The key is to let oneself be captivated and look where we usually don’t.

The city, BELOW
Old warehouses, cellars, labyrinths of tunnels: streets and buildings conceal an infinite underground world. Exploring it can provide unique inspiration.

ARE WE WHAT WE EAT?
FEEDING BODY AND MIND
Dialoghi di Pistoia, 15th Edition (2023)

An opportunity to reflect on our relationship with food—less obvious than it may seem. After all, food taboos are an integral part of almost every tradition.

THE ANXIETY TO PUBLISH HARMS RESEARCH (2024)

“In 2022, more than 1,200 scholars around the world produced more than one academic paper per week. A figure that damages the credibility of the system—and risks harming people.”

A CULTURAL HISTORY OF LOVE (2025)

Interview with Katie Barclay, curator of the project A Cultural History of Love.

“A six-volume work tracing over two thousand years of cultural history of an emotion that has always been decisive.
“The project takes on political significance in a time of heightened cynicism.”
